# Deboard Entry Key

The DE-Key is a distinct, non-replicable token (NFT) essential for operating a DE-Node within the Deboard network. This license acts as a certification of a node's qualification to lodge claims and earn rewards. It is created by transferring a specific quantity of Ether, with its minting price governed by a progressively increasing threshold system.

The Node License is pivotal in the Referee contract's framework. To submit an assertion in response to a challenge, a node must present its DE-Key ID. The Referee contract verifies the legitimacy of the DE-Key and whether the node is the DE-Key's owner or an authorized operator. If these criteria are satisfied, the node's assertion is accepted for the challenge.

In essence, the DE-Key is a fundamental element within the Deboard network that controls the operation of DE-Nodes, the submission of assertions, and the allocation of rewards.
